Rebranded Horwich Farrelly appoints new chairman

Horwich Farrelly has appointed a new chairman and unveiled a new look brand.

John O’Roarke (pictured), the current managing director of LV= General Insurance, has become the firm’s new chairman. O’Roarke, who has worked at RBS Insurance as well, will leave LV= later this year.

Having worked with Horwich Farrelly for many years, he said that he had been impressed by the way the firm ran its business.

“In an era of commoditisation and faceless corporatisation the strong emphasis that the firm puts on delivering a high quality service backed by high quality people resonates entirely with my own approach,” said O’Roarke.

“2016 is likely to see some significant regulatory and legal challenges which will put all defendant law firms and insurers to the test. Given Horwich Farrelly’s strong organic growth in recent years and its significant investments in people, infrastructure and technology, it is in a unique position to deliver added value to the insurance industry.

He added, “the firm has built an enviable reputation as a specialist in the defendant and counter-fraud sectors and I’m excited to be joining the board at this time.”

As well as announcing John O’Roarke’s appointment, Horwich Farrelly has revealed its new rebranded image and website.

Managing partner Rob Barrett said that it was important that the firm’s position as a modern, results-driven, specialist provider of legal services to the general insurance claims sector was reflected in its brand.
