Hill Dickinson appoints new partner Ivor Long from Weightmans

Ivor Long, the former head of Weightmans’ food and drink insurance department has joined Hill Dickinson.

With over 20 years’ experience, Long acts for food and beverage manufacturers dealing with employers’ liability, public liability and product claims. He also has extensive experience with handling casualty fraud claims. An affiliate member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, he sits on its food and drink group committee as a legal adviser. He also regularly undertakes advanced practical training in accident investigation and claims defensibility for clients.

Hill Dickinson’s head of insurance, Ruth Lawrence, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ivor to our insurance practice at a time when we continue to broaden our offering and invest in a number of growth areas. Ivor brings a wealth of experience to the role and will make a great addition to the team.”

The move follows the recent appointment of partners Neil Trayhurn and Dragos Stoica to Hill Dickinson’s London insurance team.
