Charles Taylor Adjusting names new MD for property, casualty, technical and special risks

Charles Taylor Adjusting has promoted Andy Rice to managing director of property, casualty, technical and special risks for the UK, Europe and Singapore.

He takes over from Andrew Jackson, who will stand aside to concentrate full time on his financial lines claims work, business development in existing and new sectors, and developing the next generation of loss adjusters.

Rice joined Charles Taylor Adjusting in 2008 and was appointed deputy managing director of property, casualty, technical and special risks in 2015. He is an expert in complex international product liability and recall losses and handles a broad spectrum of claims, including environmental and public liability claims for global corporations.

Jackson has held the role of managing director of property, casualty, technical and special risks for 17 years.

Damian Ely, chief executive officer of Charles Taylor Adjusting, thanked Jackson for his contribution to the firm. He said: “I would like to pay tribute to Andrew Jackson for his outstanding contribution to Charles Taylor Adjusting. His passion for the business has enabled us to grow our capabilities and extend our reach across property, casualty and special risks markets.”

“He has established Charles Taylor Adjusting as a leader in the financial lines sector and has made a huge commitment to recruiting and developing the next generation of loss adjusters at a time when many firms were underinvesting in professional development. I am delighted that we will continue to benefit from his experience and expertise as a director of the business.”

Ely continued: “I am very pleased that Andy Rice is taking the role of managing director. We have focused on succession planning and Andy’s promotion provides us with the continuity of leadership, stability and consistent approach that our clients expect.”

Rice said: “This is an exciting time for Charles Taylor Adjusting. We can build on our strong foundations in the property, casualty, technical and special risks market and continue to expand and develop our capabilities. I will focus on further growing the business by both recruiting sector specialists and by creating more opportunities for our talented younger adjusters to develop their careers. We offer a professionally challenging and inclusive working environment, enabling us to deliver an exceptional service to our clients.”

Jackson said: “I am delighted that Andy Rice will be taking over from me as managing director, we have worked closely together for many years and I know he has the skills and ability to further build our business in the property, casualty and special risks markets.”

“I felt the time was right for me to step back from day to day management. This will allow me to focus my attention on my own and our expanded team’s financial lines case load, training and developing our newer adjusters and spending more time listening to and responding to our clients’ needs, all areas that I greatly enjoy and where I believe I can continue to add most value.”
