Coplus has brought in former GT Motive UK business director Richard Taylor to oversee Cobalt.
He will oversee the motor claims management solution as business director, bringing more than 30 years of experience in insurance claims and repair.
Taylor (pictured) spent 20 years at Aviva across several roles, including claims supply chain and relationship management, followed by senior leadership and director-level roles at Audatex, Euro Car Parts and, most recently, GT Motive, where he successfully launched the Madrid-headquartered business into the UK market.
At Coplus, Taylor will be responsible for leading all Cobalt services, from first notification of loss, repair deployment and accident damage management, to total loss management, third-party capture and non-fault claims.
Taylor will oversee a new first- and third-party motor claims management solution in Cobalt, which was brought to market by Coplus, part of handl Group, to offer capabilities developed in broker claims management to insurers and managing general agents.
Jason Tripp, managing director of Coplus, welcomed Taylor, saying: “His experience in claims supply chains and crash repair technology is key to helping us bring new partners on board. Cobalt is motor claims technology, working with our people, to drive cost efficiency and better service. Richard will be leading our continuous innovation and establishing Cobalt as a real challenger in the motor claims management market.”
Taylor said he was thrilled to be overseeing Cobalt during an exciting phase of its evolution: “Being asked to run the new Cobalt business is a privilege. It’s a unique proposition that the Cobalt solution is offering and it’s really going to revolutionise the way in which the insurance market is supported. I’m looking forward to working closely with other leading companies within this market and bringing together some really clever solutions.”
