McLarens unveils new UK and Ireland senior management board

McLarens has introduced a senior management board for the UK and Ireland, bringing in its foremost practitioners from across operational and business management lines following a rapid increase in the claims services provider’s turnover and headcount.

The new senior management board took the reins of McLarens UK and Ireland from 1 April, replacing the executive leadership team previously in place.

The expanded management board includes senior representation from the finance, human resources, and legal departments, with Liz Tubb, Tushar Nimbalkar and Emma Youatt all joining.

From the existing executive leadership team, McLarens has promoted Steven Wallace to the expanded role of managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

David Gillan is now in charge of UK loss adjusting operations, Kieran Gallagher has taken over the reporting line from the organisation’s expanding adjacencies and emerging practices, and Neil Baldwin is overseeing commercial development.

Toby Knight has also been appointed to a new role of property practices director to oversee McLarens’s commercial property, private clients and estates, and real estate practices.

Finally, David Walker has retired from his role as executive director and moved into a global consultancy position with McLarens.

Alongside these changes, McLarens has expanded its leadership team to bring in operational and business managers alongside practice heads and technical leads.

The move has resulted in the creation of 45 leadership positions within the UK and Ireland business, with the new roles further strengthening the team and positioning the business for future growth.

McLarens said the new structure reflects the expansion of its UK and Ireland business. The organisation has doubled in size in the past four years, both in terms of headcount and turnover, as it works to establish itself as a market leader in the provision of technical claims services to complex, commercial and speciality markets.

It is now a multi-disciplinary business, boasting 350 staff across 12 specialist practices and a growing stable of adjacency businesses spanning surveying, mitigation, and forensic investigation.

As part of the changes, McLarens has brought executive managers into the leadership structure, alongside the creation of new compliance and audit and systems and data leads.

The changes also create greater demarcation between practice heads, technical leads, business development and business management disciplines to ensure clearer roles and responsibilities.

Wallace commented: “This is a hugely positive development and reflects how far we’ve come as a business. McLarens is now a multi-disciplinary business of considerable scale and increasing diversity. It’s crucial that we provide the business with a strong foundation for the next phase of our development.

“We recognise that the prior exec team that has led the business for many years needs a broader, more diverse and more integrated skillset to tackle the challenges and opportunities ahead.

“The introduction of finance, HR and legal onto the board, alongside data and analytics and compliance will ensure these important functions are central to the business’s strategy. At the same time, our technical leaders remain at the core of our leadership. These are exciting times, and McLarens has never been stronger.”
