AND-E appoints Adrian Steele in key role

Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe (AND-E) has appointed Adrian Steele as the group chief reinsurance officer for its UK and European operations. 

The mobility insurance provider AND-E has welcomed Adrian Steele to the team. In this new role, Steele will report to Michael Kainzbauer, AND-E’s Group CEO.  

The promotion is a testament to Steele’s outstanding contributions as the Head of Insurance Solutions for Toyota Insurance Services and Head of KINTO Protect, the mobility brand for Toyota. 

Steele, with nearly four decades of experience in the insurance industry, is a seasoned professional known for his in-depth understanding of motor insurance claims.  

Steele is known for having a forward-looking approach to the future of mobility. Notably, Steele played a pivotal role in AND-E’s provision of insurance for Oxa, marking the first autonomous vehicle journey on UK roads without an occupant. This insurance was tailored to address the unique risks associated with Level 4 autonomy on public roads. 

Michael Kainzbauer, Group CEO at AND-E, expressed his confidence in Steele’s appointment, given Steele’s nearly ten-year history with the company. Kainzbauer remarked, “Steele brings a deep knowledge of our business, having worked within the group for almost ten years. To say he is a very safe pair of hands for this critical position would be an understatement.   

“Steele will leverage his vast experience of motor insurance claims, as well his fundamental appreciation for the evolution of mobility solutions to ensure we have the right partners behind us as we forge ahead in our goal to lead the way in connected mobility protection.”
