AM Best reaffirms Corin Underwriting’s “strong” performance rating

AM Best has reaffirmed its “Strong” Performance Assessment (PA-3) for Corin Underwriting.

Launched in 2017, Corin Underwriting is a bespoke underwriting platform and an established player in the MGA sector. The rating reflects Corin’s consistent performance and stability within the market.

Andy Hurrell, founder of Corin Underwriting, commented on the news, stating, “Corin was a pioneer in choosing to go through the highly rigorous and independent A.M. Best MGA review process, analogous to carriers going through their rating process. This reflects our absolute commitment to our alignment of interest with our carriers and other stakeholders.”

According to Stuart Shipperlee, managing director at Litmus Analysis, Corin has continued to meet the key criteria that A.M. Best evaluates. “Since first receiving its ‘Strong’ assessment last year Corin has continued to deliver and enhance the key attributes that  A.M. Best reviews. This is an outstanding performance given Corin’s relative size.” he noted.

The assessment considers five core aspects of Corin’s operations: underwriting capabilities, governance and internal controls, financial condition, organisational talent, and industry relationships. The reaffirmed “Strong” rating suggests that Corin remains competitive and well-regarded in the MGA sector.
