Express Solicitors has further strengthened its clinical negligence team with the appointment of Tanzeela Aslam as Partner and deputy head of the department.
Qualified as both a solicitor and a barrister, Tanzeela joins Express Solicitors from fellow Manchester-based personal injury firm, Thompsons Solicitors. She brings extensive experience in handling complex clinical negligence cases, with a particular specialism in birth injury claims, including cerebral palsy cases. Her expertise spans a wide range of medical negligence matters, such as failure to diagnose and treat, negligent diagnosis and treatment, delayed diagnosis, and lack of informed consent.
Tanzeela has a proven track record in securing significant settlements, including a high-value brain and spinal cord injury claim that resulted in a £10.6m settlement. She has also played a pivotal role in securing interim payments of up to £1.6m, ensuring that clients receive the rehabilitation and accommodation support they need.
Commenting on her new role, Tanzeela said, “I’m really excited to be joining Express Solicitors at such a dynamic time for the firm. My role is not just about securing justice for individuals but also about educating society on the realities of clinical negligence. I look forward to guiding and advising clients through the legal process and making a real impact.”
Tanzeela has been a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) since 2011 and an accredited senior litigator since 2012. She also holds the prestigious Law Society accreditation as a clinical negligence specialist, reflecting her exceptional technical expertise and commitment to client care. Recently elected as lead co-ordinator for the APIL Clinical Negligence Group, she plays a key role in lobbying Parliament and advocating for better patient safety by highlighting avoidable medical errors and dispelling myths around negligence claims. Her previous work includes advocacy for hundreds of individuals affected by negligent medical treatment involving mesh implants.
Tanzeela will be working closely alongside Carlos Lopez, head of clinical negligence at Express Solicitors, who welcomed her appointment: “We’re thrilled to have Tanzeela join our busy team. She brings a wealth of experience and a real positive energy. I look forward to seeing the impact she will have for our clients and the wider legal community.”
With this latest addition, Express Solicitors continues to expand its expertise in clinical negligence, reinforcing its commitment to securing justice for clients and promoting excellence in legal representation.
