High net worth insurance specialist Home & Legacy has launched a new online claims portal.
Home & Legacy launched the portal in response to broker feedback, which overwhelmingly indicated such a resource would be helpful for both intermediaries and policyholders.
The new portal has been added to the existing Home & Legacy Online service, where brokers can engage in e-trading.
Household claims can be reported 24/7 on Home & Legacy Online. The status of a claim can also be checked, brokers receive automatic email notifications when policyholders file a report, and there is out of hours loss adjuster instruction where necessary.
The new claims portal has been launched to complement Home & Legacy’s existing communication channels. Brokers and policyholders can still contact the high net worth insurance specialist via phone and email.
Andrew Reid, head of claims at Home & Legacy, said of the new claims portal: “We listened to broker feedback which demonstrated there is a real appetite to report and track the status of claims online.”
“I am delighted we can now offer even more choice in how our customers and brokers can communicate with us about a claim. Our broker research also found 40% of brokers were unsure whether insurance providers could be using technology more effectively to handle claims, which shows there is an opportunity to differentiate ourselves in this area.”
Barry O’Neill, managing director of Home & Legacy, added: “When we launched e-trading on Home & Legacy Online and improved transactional efficiency. We saw first-hand how much more our expert staff were able to do in other areas such as complex underwriting or providing even better service. Naturally, we wanted to apply the same sort of innovation in claims to deliver added value for brokers and their customers.”
