The RAC has extended its partnership CPP Group UK.
Alongside its existing suite of services, CPP has been chosen to provide ancillary insurance services for the RAC’s car telematics and van protection range.
The RAC’s decision to make CPP its ancillary insurance provider of choice follows a move to bring these products all in-house.
The RAC’s car telematics customers will gain access to CPP’s key protection, which provides cover against keys that are lost, broken, stolen or locked inside a vehicle, as well as its insurance replacement hire vehicle product.
A broader range of CPP’s motor ancillary suite will be made available for the RAC’s van customers. As well as key protection and guaranteed vehicle replacement, they will be able to take advantage of the excess protect and tools in transit insurance products.
As part of the offering, CPP is providing a fully branded claims handling service for key protection and excess protect from its head office in Leeds.
The deal builds on an existing partnership, with 200,000 of the RAC’s Key Replace policyholders already receiving CPP’s bespoke claims handling service.
Since April 2020, any claims for Key Replace are fulfilled by accredited mobile locksmiths from CPP’s UK-wide, 24-hour network.
Marcus Latchford, head of RAC Insurance, said: “I am certain that CPP’s expertise and experience in this area make them the perfect partner, working with us to develop the extensive range of quality products that our customers need. We’re committed to working together to deliver both value and flexibility and ultimately to achieve even better outcomes for the RAC’s members.”
Michael Whitfield, managing director of CPP Group UK, commented: “The RAC shares CPP’s ambition to deliver outstanding protection and a seamless experience to its customers. Our partnership with the RAC has already proven incredibly fruitful because of this, and we’re thrilled to embark on this next stage in our relationship as its chosen ancillary insurance provider for its car and van telematics portfolio.”
“Our extensive end-to-end capabilities in providing and packaging ancillary products uniquely qualified CPP for this responsibility. This is a powerful collaboration with scope for future growth. Make sure to watch this space, as we have plans to expand our product range with the RAC even further in the near future.”
The RAC is also striking partnerships to boost access to its breakdown products.
Insurance brokers that work with technology provider Acturis can now access RAC Breakdown products directly via their broker management system, quoting and binding risks easily within a matter of minutes.
Adam Culley, head of insurance partners at the RAC, said on the launch: “We’ve been working closely with Acturis over the last twelve months and are excited about the new opportunities integration on the Acturis platform provides; it’s made it easier for new and existing brokers to trade RAC Breakdown products. The RAC can now provide Brokers with a complete range of vehicle types and cover levels from mopeds to the largest HGV all under one policy.”
Russ Anderton, scheme product manager at Acturis, commented: “Acturis is delighted to partner with the RAC and add this new product offering to our broker base. This will allow instant quotes and efficient trading through e-trade on the Acturis platform backed by a strong brand.”
