Sandfield Capital is a London-based lendtech company specialising in providing loans to individuals pursuing civil litigation claims. They have successfully secured a £20 million credit facility through Ampla Finance. This move marks the initial phase of a larger £100 million fundraise led by Altimapa Capital, a private debt finance specialist.
Established in 2020 by Steven D’Ambrosio, Sandfield collaborates with specialised law firms and funds cases. They work in legal areas such as housing disrepair, personal data breach and mortgage interest miscalculation. Sandfield ensures that individuals bear no financial burden in case their claims are unsuccessful. They will fully insure all loans provided.
With headquarters in London and an office in Liverpool, Sandfield currently boasts a team of eight employees. The recent funding injection earmarks operational expansion, with plans to create ten new jobs in response to growing market demand.
Steven D’Ambrosio, CEO of Sandfield Capital, stated:
“Sandfield Capital provides access to justice for individuals who may otherwise be unable to pursue a claim. We support cases in areas of clear demand which have been overlooked by other finance providers and help tenants, home owners and others to seek justice through the courts. This funding will help us to meet the growing demand.”
Pedro Tavares, CEO and founder of Altimapa Capital, went on:
“Sandfield Capital has a well-thought-out business model and a sound proposition, however as a niche operator, it failed to tick the right boxes for traditional funders. We are delighted that we were able to find the right match and structure a deal that highlights the expertise and professionalism of all parties involved.”
Richard Kennerley, CEO of Ampla Finance, added:
“Sandfield is well placed to capitalise on these advancements whilst also providing its client base with a high quality, ethical and comprehensive offering. We’re delighted to support Sandfield with the £20m credit facility and look forward to working with the management team in the future as they maximise on the market potential.”
