Serious Injury Law launches ‘wraparound’ rehab service

Serious Injury Law’s new rehabilitation and support service aims to set a higher standard for injury case management.

Serious Injury Law, a part of Fletchers Group, has launched a new in-house rehabilitation and support service. The goal is to help clients with serious injuries recover faster and improve their quality of life.

The service focuses on early intervention, making sure clients get quick access to specialist treatment and care. This can make a big difference in their recovery process.

Caroline Morris, managing director of Serious Injury Law, explained the importance of fast support. “Early intervention can make a real difference to the speed and extent of recovery,” she said. “By offering this service from the outset, we will help our clients regain independence and overall wellbeing much quicker.”

She also pointed out that this service benefits not only individuals but society as a whole: “This service will greatly increase their chances of becoming productive members of society again, more quickly, and at less cost to the taxpayer.”

The economic impact of serious injuries

A study by Fletchers Group found that without proper support, injured people would take £42 million out of the economy in lost economic output. This would result in a net cost of over £100 million to public sector finances and a £12 million drop in household incomes.

Morris also highlighted that with 2.8 million people currently out of work due to long-term illness, getting people back to work is crucial. This new service will help reduce the growing cost of health and disability benefits, expected to reach £100 billion by 2030.

A complete approach to rehabilitation

Serious Injury Law’s new rehab service goes beyond legal help. It offers medical, rehabilitation, and emotional support, all in one place. The aim is to help clients and their families regain confidence, independence, and a sense of normalcy.

A team of experts, including case managers and clinical specialists, will tailor the support to the individual. This ‘wraparound’ service includes personalised recovery plans; psychological support; help with adaptive technology or equipment; and financial advice.

“Our clients face major physical, emotional, and financial challenges after a serious injury. We believe our role is to support them in every way possible,” Morris added. “Since starting our Serious Injury practice, we have focused on getting the right care and support for our clients. By adding this rehab service, we can help them get the all-around care they need to rebuild their lives.”
